Empowering Survivors, Nurturing Futures with Compassionate Care.
Sweet Cheeks Doulas is a survivor-centered reproductive care organization serving pregnant and parenting survivors and their families throughout the Greater Lansing area. We provide full-spectrum doula support, education, advocacy, and nourishment through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, abortion, loss, parenting, and healing—with care rooted in autonomy, trust, and empathy.
Who We Are
Sweet Cheeks Doulas (SCD) is a survivor-centered reproductive care organization based in Lansing, Michigan. We provide full-spectrum doula support, advocacy, education, and community care for survivors navigating pregnancy, birth, postpartum, abortion, loss, and parenting. Our work centers dignity, consent, trauma-informed practice, and non-carceral frameworks. We believe care should feel steady—especially for those who have experienced instability, harm, or systemic neglect. We are building infrastructure for care that does not disappear when htings become complicated.
Too often, pregnancy and parenting intersect with trauma, poverty, violence, and systems that retraumatize instead of support. Survivors frequently move through reproductive experiences without feeling believed, informed, or safe. SCD was founded to change that. Our model bridges reproductive care and survivor advocacy. We integrate doula support, systems navigation, harm reduction, and community healing under one intentional structure. We believe that healing is public, birthwork is justice work, care should be culturally rooted and accessible, and survivors deserve infrastructure—not just crisis response. We do this by providing emotional support, education, and advocacy while honoring the boundaries of our scope. We collaborate with healthcare providers and legal systems when appropriate, but we remain grounded in survivor autonomy.

What We Believe
-
We build spaces where survivors can be held, not hidden. You lead. We support. Consent is ongoing, not assumed.
-
We recognize the impact of lived experiences and prioritize nervous system awareness, autonomy, and choice.
-
We do not default to punishment, surveillance, or coercion. We support expanded options and safer pathways.
-
Healing happens in community. We know that nothing we do would be possible without the folks in our community and those who have paved the way over generations. We are survivors empowering survivors to nurture their futures.
Who We Serve
We primarily serve:
Pregnant & Parenting Survivors
Pregnant & Postpartum Individuals
Individuals navigating abortion
Families experiencing pregnancy or infant loss
Survivors of interpersonal or systemic violence navigating reproductive and medical care
Medicaid recipients and low-income individuals and families
We especially center those historically marginalized in healthcare systems—including Black and Brown families, LGBTQIA+ individuals, young parents, and those navigating distrust and neglect of institutions. While our focus is survivor-centered care, anyone aligned with our values may inquire about services.
If we are not an ideal fit, we will do our best to connect you to someone who is.
Sweet Cheeks Doulas was founded by Aladreana “Dre” Cheeks (she/they), a Full-Spectrum Doula, Childbirth Educator, and survivor advocate. With years of experience supporting survivors and navigating complex systems, Dre’s work is deeply informed by lived experience, community care, and a refusal to accept systems that prioritize control over compassion. Dre founded SCD after recognizing the need for something different—care that honors autonomy, centers survivors as experts of their own lives, and makes room for rest, joy, and humanity. SCD exists at the intersection of reproductive justice, survivor liberation, and embodied care. it is both a response to harm and a vision for what healing can look like when survivors are trusted, resourced, and held with dignity. Under her leadership, SCD continues to expand its model of care that centers autonomy, dignity, and sustainability.
